Secrets behind fast food

You have eaten a lot of fast food but, do you truly know what you are eating. Have ever you ever wonder how they cook your food? Ever wonder do they add anything SPECIAL to your food? Do you truly know the ingredients that they add put in your food? Well, fast food isn’t really the cleanness you can ever go to eat but you still eat there because you like eating fast food so you tend to ignore it.

Have you ever seen or heard rumors about what they do if you sent your food back in. Well I have heard of a few. I heard that if you send the food back in, in order to make it a bit hotter they would ADD something special in that food for example, they might spit in your food and then mix it together and you will be eating their spit. Or they would even throw your food on the floor and then pick it back up and serve it to you.

Ever wonder why the ketchup dispensers are always stuck or never comes out until you push it hard enough. This happens because the fast food restaurants never really pay attention to actually clean it. So if you ever want to use ketchup on your food make sure that you use the package type of ketchup. Well if you want to read more about the secrets behind fast food feel free to go to the two links that I got my information from.

What is so good about home cooking?

By eating home cooked meals people can control the amount of ingredients that you put in the food, such as salt, fat, and sugar. By cooking at home you can limit the amount of fat, calories, and cholesterols that you take each day. You can use non fat ingredients at home while cooking your meal instead of eating fast food which contains a lot of fat and calories.

By preparing home cooked meals you can save money and relieve stress in the process of cooking. Some people enjoy cooking for themselves because it is fun and challenging. It doesn’t really take that much time to cook your own meal. If you like you can just choose to eat a salad for lunch or dinner. The only ingredients you really need are just lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, celery, cheese, or fruits, and the seasoning you like. It’s quite simple if you think if you think about it all you need is the ingredients.

Another advantage of cooking at home is that you are exercising at the same time you are cooking. You can burn calories while you are getting the ingredients that you need for the meal, cooking the meal, and then cleaning everything up. You’re doing exercise without you even knowing it.

How to eat healthier fast food?

Most people eat a lot of fast food everyday and they do not know the harm of it. Fast food contains high calories, sodium, and fat but it lacks the very important vitamins and minerals you need. Now fast food restaurants are trying to make your fast food choices better. They try adding low fattening and nutritious food to the menu. But still it is up to you to decide what you what to eat. You can choose to eat healthier or do you rather just want to eat a lot of fat and high calories.

Ways to eat healthier fast food
Order food to go - Studies show that people tend to eat more food when they are not home. When you take fast food, home you would have the option of providing a healthier side dish such as fruit or vegetables.

Avoid buffets –all you can eat can make people over eat the amount that they don’t want to eat because of the temptation to eat

Stick to the light menu / Make careful menu selections – most restaurants now have healthier menus so ordering food that has been baked, broiled, roasted, poached or steamed will be healthier than anything fried. Salads with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and lighter dressings will be better than salads with croutons, cheeses, meats and heavy dressings

Don't be afraid to special order - Most restaurants that you go to may have plenty of healthier choices for you but they would use a lot of sauces. But you can ask for vegetables and dishes to be served without sauces. Ask for ways to make your food healthier

Watch portion size–usually at fast food restaurants eating one meal has enough calories for two meals. So it is important to watch what you order and eat. So if it’s possible you should order smaller portions of food or if you can’t try to separate the meal so that you can eat the food in at a later time.

Share- share the food with your friends so you can at least eat the things that you really want to eat while you can avoid the over eating. If you share the portion size you eat is smaller.

Order sauce and dressing on the side- you can control the amount of sauce you use and it can still taste the same

Remember the big picture- think about what you are going to eat first before ordering the meals, so you don’t have to forget about the amount of calories you eat in the fast food restaurants. You don’t have to rush to order and that you have already decided to eat a healthier fast food.

How fast food can cause cardiovascular diseases?

Cardiovascular diseases are caused by the use of tobacco, the lack of exercise and unhealthy diets (which is eating too much fast food). Cardiovascular diseases include heart attacks, strokes, raised blood pressure, heart diseases and heart failure. Cardiovascular diseases are one of the number one causes of death because they mostly died from heart attacks and strokes. In 2005, about 17.6 people have died from this disease.

The main reason that causes strokes and heart attacks is because there is something that is blocking or preventing your blood to run to your heart or brain. If your blood vessels will become narrower and less flexible your blood vessels will become narrower and most likely that will block our blood clots. Then the blood won’t reach to your heart and brain it would become damaged.

You may be thinking what are some symptoms of these diseases? Symptoms of heart disease include pain in the center of your chest, or pain in the arms, left shoulder, elbows, jaw, or back. People may have difficulty in breathing, vomiting, feeling light headed, and becoming pale. The symptom of a stroke is weakness of the face, arm, leg, often on one side of the body, can’t speak well or understand what people are trying to say, hard to see things, may become dizzy, lose your balance, and fainting.

How fast foods cause obesity?

Eating fast food doesn’t cause obesity at all but, if you eat it all the time you would become overweight. Fast food contains high calories and since it’s so tempting to eat people usually eats a lot of it and eventually it would lead to overweight. If people don’t exercise and they continue to eat fast food they will become obesity. Research proves that people that eat fast food eats more calories then people that doesn’t eat fast food at all. Fast food contains a lot of fat, saturated fat, sodium and trans fat. Trans fat can have a really have a side effect on your body. Trans fat can cause weight gain, obesity, type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

In today’s society, more and more people are getting overweight because they are eating too much fast food. All people know how to do is blame others for their own mistakes. You can’t really blame anyone if you’re overweighed. It’s no ones fault but their own they’re the ones that chooses to eat fast food in the first place. No one is going to force you to eat fast food. I think that the only reason that people these days are getting overweighed is because they can’t control what they eat. If they were to eat healthier they won’t even be overweighed in the first place. A person knows that eating fast food may cause them to be overweighed but if they were doing all their exercises they would defiantly not be overweighed at all.

Super Size Me

Why people should stop eating McDonald?

One of the most worldwide fast food restaurants is McDonald. There are about 30,000 local restaurants of McDonald, which serves up to almost 52 million people everyday. Some of McDonald’s famous food is French Fries, Big Mac, Quarter Pounder, Chicken McNuggets and Egg McMuffin.

Is eating all this fast food good to you? What will happen to you if you were to eat McDonald everyday? Morgan Spurlock can answer your questions. Spurlock is a film maker which, made documentary of him eating McDonalds for 30 days called “Super Size Me”. He ate McDonald three times a day and spent one whole month eating McDonald. He followed three rules while he was doing this experiment. The first rule was that he can only eat food that was available over the counter at McDonalds. The second rule, whenever an employee asked him, he would have to super size his order. Finally the last rule, Spurlock had to at least eat everything on the menu once. The results of eating McDonald for one month were that he gained 27 pounds and his cholesterol rose.

I think that no one would actually eat fast food three times a day and eat it everyday. I do agree with Michelle Moran (in resource link two) because that film does seem unrealistic. I would like to say that I like to eat fast food but even I won’t eat fast food everyday. I’ll admit that I would eat fast food at least twice a week. But I defiantly can’t stand eating fast food everyday. If I were to eat fast food everyday I think, in less than a month I would get tired of it and never want to even touch fast food again.
